The Start of the Weekly Updates
Hello all,
I hope these past couple of weeks have been
kind to you. I’m just here to post an update on what is going on with this
blog and anything else that comes to mind really. On to the update!
If you’ve read my first ever post on this blog, aptly
titled “Introduction. Who am I?”, I mentioned that I was going to post weekly
updates about myself so that you, the reader, could know me a bit better.
However, after following the weekly update schedule rather religiously (please
note the sarcasm), I have decided that just posting about myself is a bit
narcissistic. Hence, I have devised a format for these weekly updates.
Firstly, since this is still my blog, I will be
talking about myself, but I plan on keeping those pieces short and informative,
so that they can still be interesting. Moreover, these will be posted at the
start of the week, so on a Sunday or a Monday, depending on what I can muster
up, but they will definitely be posted on either one of those days. Also, I
will talk about upcoming pieces on the blog for the week and for the future.
I’ll announce new posts on Facebook as that seems to be efficient. Secondly, I
will also be posting a sort of ‘news’ segment at the end of the week, so on a
Friday, at a time that is yet to be decided. Most probably sometime in the
afternoon to accommodate for time zones. That goes for the ‘me’ pieces as well.
Anyway, these ‘news’ segments will contain information regarding things I like
and/or am interested in, but also things most people can relate to and find
enjoyable, in order to strike a balance. Just to give you an idea, these
segments will contain news related to gaming, technology, cars, music, TV shows,
movies, the world of literature, etc. I would write about global events like
the Paris attacks or things of that nature, but I’d rather have this be on
entertainment and technology. It’s also good practice for me as I want to do
journalism later in life, and I want to write about either the
film/entertainment industry, or the gaming and technology side of things.
I guess some of you will probably think I’m taking
this a bit too seriously, but I don’t blame you. I completely understand. After
all, it is a blog written by an 18 year old. However, writing is something I
very much enjoy, no matter the content (unless it’s another internal assessment
for maths), and would therefore like to take this seriously and turn this hobby
into something more. My mom somewhat scolded me recently for not taking life
seriously enough, I guess this is a step of sorts. Are you proud of me, mom?
(She probably is).
Before I go, I would like to ask you to help me pick
names for these two entries I’m going to be posting. I’ll list the ones I have
come up with so far for each piece.
Posts
about myself:
- Me by Me
- Mildly Interesting Stuff about a Somewhat Interesting Person (MISASIP for short. Not really)
- Vault 997 (My birth year, 1997, and a nod to Fallout. Also my Fallout Shelter vault, I’m 110% sure that all my dwellers are nothing but bones now)
- I haven’t come up with anything else, sorry.
The
news segment:
- This isn't Journalism
Those are the names I’ve managed to come up with, it’s
harder than I expected. Also, being tired doesn’t help. Feel free to leave a
comment on either the blog post or on the Facebook post for this entry.
Thanks for reading and for the help!
